Wilate® ProCare Patient Support Program

The wilate® ProCare Patient Support Program is only available to patients who are prescribed wilate®. It provides personalized assistance through home infusion training and support services, including infusion supplies, coordination and delivery where needed. The Program is sponsored by Octapharma Canada Inc. and administered on its behalf by its appointed administrator, Bayshore Specialty Rx Ltd.

A dedicated Nurse Case Managerfor every patient

HCPs and patients get a single and consistent point of contact for all questions, appointments and supply coordination.

Self-infusion training

Patients learn how to self-infuse under the guidance of experienced nurses in bleeding disorder care certified in (i) IV therapy and peripheral line insertion (ii) Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS).

Support where they need it: home or clinic

Infusion support can be provided at home or through a clinic, based on patient needs, with tailored services for rural communities.

One view for tracking all your patients

HTC teams can view and track patients' progress on Digital Gateway platform. HCPs receive a full snapshot of each patient's visit 48 hours later with self-infusion competency updates.

Patients coordinate and receive supplies directly

Infusion supplies can be arranged and delivered through the Patient Sync App with a view of all upcoming appointments.

Regular check-ins iwth patients. Continous care.

The program checks in with patients and helps coordinate their care, keeping the HTC team informed on their progress.

Indications

Von Willebrand disease (VWD)

Wilate® is indicated for:

Treatment and prophylaxis of spontaneous and trauma-induced bleeds in all types of VWD in adult and pediatric patients where use of DDAVP (1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin/desmopressin) treatment is ineffective or contra-indicated.
Clinical data on controlling severe spontaneous bleeding are limited.
Prevention and treatment of bleeding during and after surgical procedures.

Hemophilia A

Wilate® is indicated for:

Treatment and prophylaxis of bleeding in patients with hemophilia A (congenital or acquired FVIII deficiency) and for the prevention and treatment of bleeding in minor surgical procedures. Clinical trials to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Wilate® in major surgeries are ongoing. Therefore, limited data are presently available on which to evaluate or to base dosing recommendations. Thus, in the case of major surgical interventions, a precise monitoring of the substitution therapy by means of coagulation analysis (FVIII:C) is indispensable.

Contraindications

Wilate® is contraindicated for patients who are hypersensitive to this drug or to any ingredient in the formulation, including any non-medicinal ingredient, or component of the container.
